Computing

In computing, Year 2 have become researchers. They are developing different skills of how to research safely on the internet. The children were given a blank fact file about plants and QR codes to help them find out facts to complete their grid. We then compared two different websites looking at websites we could and couldn’t trust to show how different the information can be.

Maths

In maths, Year 2 have been looking at rotations in terms of clockwise and anti-clockwise. We had a fun morning in the hall creating our own mazes in small groups and giving verbal instructions to direct them through the course. We spent this morning writing instructions to direct people from start to finish and seeing who could be the fastest to get to the end!

Art

In Art, Year 2 have been looking at creating our very own plant inspired prints. First of all, we created flower and leaf printing blocks using cardboard and string. Then, when they had dried we painted over the top of the string and printed onto coloured paper in repeating patterns. We thought they looked very effective!

Fun Day

Wow, what an amazing day we had! Year 2 had an absolutely fantastic day celebrating how hard they had worked during their SATs. We created a wish list and Miss Dennison worked hard to make all of the treats come true. In the morning we got our baking hands on creating lots of delicious treats which we enjoyed during our mid morning picnic. Then we took the parachute onto the field for some fun in the sun and enjoyed a few party games. After our fun-filled morning we had a nice relaxing afternoon watching Shrek with an interval of snacks to keep us going! The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it was wonderful to see them so happy and relaxed :)
