Mrs Teresa Rouse

Deputy Headteacher

Hi! I joined Saint Mary’s in April 2016 as Deputy Head. However, I have held a special place in my heart for this lovely school for most of my life, as this was my primary school. In fact, my mum also taught at St Mary’s! So to be able to come back and help lead the school forward is a real honour.

My favourite subjects to teach are phonics and music – and if I can combine the two it makes me very happy! Most of my lessons will have a song in there somewhere! I run a choir in school each week and we are looking forward to singing in some festivals this year.

Outside of school, I love doing sports! Anything from skiing to swimming and running to rock walls! I also love baking with my two daughters and going to the cinema.

I am passionate about ensuring children receive the very best education – we only get one chance to get this right and every minute counts at school. I enjoy making learning fun and engaging to encourage a life-long love and respect of learning. It is a huge bonus that Saint Mary’s is a strong Catholic school as the wider support of our priest and parish mean they are always there to support us all on our educational journey.
